1. Fix Your Grip
Your grip is the foundation of your swing. A weak grip (where your hands are turned too far left on the club) can cause slices, while a strong grip (hands too far right) can result in hooks. Mark teaches a neutral grip:
- Position the club in your fingers, not your palm.
- Your top hand (left for right-handed golfers) should show two knuckles when looking down.
- Your bottom hand should sit comfortably below, creating a unified connection.
- Maintain light but firm pressure—gripping too tightly restricts fluidity.
2. Keep the Clubface Square at Impact
To hit consistent, straight shots, the clubface must be square at impact. Here’s how:
- Check wrist position at the top—avoid excessive cupping (open face) or bowing (closed face).
- Focus on rotating your body rather than just swinging with your arms.
- Use slow-motion practice swings to develop muscle memory for a square face.
