In this golf instruction video, Mark looks at the importance of the clubface control throughout your golf swing.
Understanding and controlling your clubface throughout the swing is one of the most important elements in becoming a consistent ball striker. In this video, I break down the key positions to help you get your clubface in the right spot at the right time:
- Hip Height (Takeaway): The clubface should match your spine angle. This shows the face is square to the arc and sets you up for a solid backswing.
- Top of the Backswing: The clubface should be parallel to your lead (left) forearm. This alignment is a great checkpoint to ensure your wrists and arms are working in sync and the face isn’t overly open or closed.
- Downswing (Shaft Parallel to Ground): Once again, the clubface should match your spine angle. This keeps the face square and ready to return to the ball with power and precision.
These positions are used by the best players in the world to control ball flight, reduce curvature, and increase accuracy.
If you struggle with slices, hooks, or inconsistent contact, this is the video you need. Start focusing on your clubface, and the rest of your swing will improve.
