Memories of Ben Hogan usually begin with that 1-iron from the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club. That perfect finish pretty much symbolizes our memories of “Hawk.” When we think of Hogan we typically think of pure contact and precision – his golf swing is regularly regarded as the greatest of all-time.
“The FT. WORTH iron was created to address the specific limitation of the historic forged blades. We took a fresh approach at a forged iron. This is a single piece of 1025 carbon steel hammered into shape by an 800 ton forging press. Each iron has been turned to that loft of the golf club which adds an element of forgiveness which has never been achieved in a single piece forged golf club,” Terry Koehler, President and CEO, Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company.
The new Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company returned in April of 2014 after a break from production. The Company is based in Fort Worth, Texas, only a few miles from the original Ben Hogan facility.
These are the FT. WORTH irons forged from premium 1025 Carbon Steel, each iron looks slightly different than the next one. And each one is optimized for performance for that specific loft.
