Walters Golf Management ignores borders to bring great golf to the Greater St. Louis area — on both sides of the Mississippi.
We do well generally in recommending a golf course in any particular city or region. That’s “a” as in singular. Not in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Here we recommend one golf course management company – Walters Golf Management – and its many wonderfully unique, challenging and rewarding public golf courses sprinkled throughout the Greater St. Louis area in Missouri and Illinois, known as the St. Louis Golf Trail.
Meet Me in St. Louis – for professionally-managed public golf courses, and all of the “big-city” attractions and and diversions for after your rounds.
This is the “Show Me” state, so we’re showing you Walters’ wonderful courses.
For more details, rates, tee times, etc., on any of these courses, check out their individual websites. Or go to www.wgmgolf.com.
Emerald Greens is like playing two courses at once tucked away in North County, St. Louis. Each hole seems as if you’re on your own private golf course, away from the disturbances of modern day life. The wildlife on the par 70, 365-acre layout is astounding. Deer, fox and a variety of birds are as common as golf carts, sand bunkers and water hazards. Emerald Greens is not only a fun and challenging layout, but is also a beautiful and up-close view of the indigenous wildlife on the Mississippi River confluence. Emerald Greens has at its roots a relationship with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Eastern Missouri Local 562, as its leaders envisioned a campus-like setting for not only their work, but for recreational endeavors. It’s no coincidence Number 7 is 562 yards long from the back tee —the number for the local.
Twelve lakes, 30 sand bunkers. One Innsbrook. Innsbrook’s 18-hole championship golf course is carved out of the rolling wooded hillsides of eastern Missouri. It offers dramatic elevation changes and scenic views, challenging low handicappers from the back tees as well as high handicappers and ladies from the forward tees.
Built in 1901, historic Normandie Golf Club is the oldest public golf course still in operation in its original location West of the Mississippi River. The Bermuda fairways and undulating greens are always in top condition and ready for play. Normandie’s relaxing but competitive atmosphere makes it a unique golfing home. With a full service golf shop offering instructional programs for golfers of all ages and abilities as well as a nice selection of apparel and golfing essentials, Normandie’s clubhouse is chock full of value and options. The food is outstanding; choose from a wide variety of lunch offerings or your favorite cold beverage to take with you for the back nine. The professional staff runs some of the most fun and entertaining outings in the St. Louis area.

Stonewolf is out to transform itself into the premier golf destination in the greater St. Louis area. You have Walters’ word on it and you have Jack’s signature on it! Stonewolf is more than a Jack Nicklaus designed course, it’s a Jack Nicklaus Signature design course. That means the man, the legend himself, Jack Nicklaus took an active hand in the total design and construction of this magnificent golf course. This is one of only four Jack Nicklaus Signature designed courses in Illinois and Missouri. “Jack” golf means well-designed. Fun and fair. Picturesque. Stonewolf features Zoysia grass tees and fairways and bent grass greens. This is a shot-maker’s course; several of the holes have a lot of character. You’ll find distinct bunkers – real “Nicklaus” bunkers, known for their shape, design and placement.
