Sciuri Cafe on South Beach, Before and After the Round

Sciuri Pasticceria e Rosticceria Siciliana (Flower Sicilian Pastry Cafe) on South Beach is a proper Italian café. It has a row of Ducati motorcycles parked in front to prove it.

All the pastries, desserts, sandwiches and quiches are made onsite from scratch. There are so many delicious hot and cold items on the menu, but it’s memories of the babà al rum that will live forever. Allow the round rum cake swimming in rum to serve as a benchmark for the establishment – it is magic. The care and concern that Italy is known for are on display here. It is a simple café with a sophisticated approach.

Sciuri Cafe

So beautiful, it may indeed bring a tear to your eye

The café is open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. To understand their commitment to pastries – they offer four types of croissants. Yeah, four.

Savory items are served all day and include various Fagottini (pastries stuffed with ham & cheese); Sfincione (Sicilian pizza); Arancino (stuffed fried rice balls coated with breadcrumbs with a heart of ham and cheese, spinach, and cheese) and Involtini Di Melanzane (eggplant rolls with mozzarella cheese). These items start at $4.50 — good stuff for a good price.

For locals and tourists, Sciuri can be addictive: morning caffeine, breakfast, a light snack or lunch – this café is brilliant. Here’s the shaved chocolate on top of the tiramisu – Sciuri has free and easy access parking. Also, there are several sweet treats ready to deliver for quick gifts. Its beautiful cakes and pies are perfect for parties or at the house. Cake is art here – give them a deserving look of admiration before serving. It’s the right thing to do.

In Miami, add this to the agenda – the babà al rum alone is worth the stop.
