Here’s a Celebrity Golf Tournament Worth the Donation of Admission

Perhaps distasteful because the charitable cause should be paramount, but we’re going to evaluate the celebrity golf tournament on experience alone. Open bar, fun side games and a quality track are expected and appreciated. However, not just celebrity golf tournaments, but celebrity events in general have too much talking. The best of the best celeb speakers struggle to hold a room. And even if they’re good, they go too long, the audience loses interest and it’s a mad dash for the bar while some long-winded ex-pro bowler is yappin’ away.

Next on the tee, Cedric The Entertainer

Let’s swap the chatty Olympic gold medal winner for Cedric the Entertainer. Finally, a golf tournament awards presentation ceremony that won’t suck. Cedric the Entertainer is one of those people that gets laughs without trying. This is the rare celebrity event where the talking portion is a highlight.

Friendly faces at the 6th Annual Cedric the Entertainer Celebrity Golf Classic

The 7th Annual Cedric the Entertainer Celebrity Golf Classic happens on Sunday, August 11 (dinner) and Monday, August 12 (golf) at Spanish Hills Country Club, a private club in Camarillo, California. The club is just off the 101 Freeway about 45 miles west of Hollywood which could be a three-hour drive in L.A. traffic so plan accordingly. Other celebs scheduled to attend include the 762* home run hitting Barry Bonds. Be sure to get a yin and yang photo with Alonzo Mourning and Spud Webb. And running-back royalty Emmitt Smith, Eddie George and Reggie Bush will be there too among others.

Cold drinks, good times and laughs to benefit the Kyles Family Foundation which benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo. There are hundreds of celebrity tournaments like this, but definitely not this funny.
