NSFW: Nude Golf Options in America

It’s a common misconception that all nudists are swingers. The core fundamentals of many nudists have nothing to do with sex at all. The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) promotes wholesome nude recreation. These nudists promote body positivity, no one passes judgement and it’s a major focus on the inside that is paramount. And all of these beliefs are transferred to the golf course.

White collar, blue collar, there are no collars

“A lot of people think all nudists are are carryover hippies from 1969, but nudists come from all walks of life. There are blue collar people, white collar people, but none of that matters because at AANR resorts, there are no collars,” Mary Jane Kolassa, an AANR spokesperson tells WBGD. “AANR resorts require background checks and promotes class. Not all nudists are swingers and there’s a fundamental difference between the two,” she adds.

The AANR has been around for 88 years and represents 180 nudist resorts, RV parks and affiliates — three AANR resorts offer nude golf. There’s the
Cypress Cove Nudist Resort just outside of Orlando in Kissimmee, Sunny Sands Nudist Resort in Pierson, Florida and Turtle Lake Resort in south central Michigan.

A quality golf shirt can cost more than $100 — problem solved

The Cypress Cove Nudist Resort and Sunny Sands have nine hole chip and putt courses. At Cypress Cove, players gather every afternoon at 3 p.m. during the winter months from October through April for a best ball scramble. It’s 30 cents per player on the buy-in and all money goes to the winner. And on the second Friday of every month they have a have a worst ball competition where each team has to play from the worst ball instead of the best ball.

Most nude resorts offer lots of activities such as hiking, cornhole and disc golf — all in the flesh. For those that have stood on the first tee and thought to themselves, “I wish I was naked,” there are options.
