#GolfVette Stop No. 4: Briggs Ranch Golf Club; San Antonio, Texas

Tom Fazio is the first celebrity golf course designer on the Little Red Corvette American Golf Road Trip. The two- and three-tiered greens guarded by deep bunkers with wavy shaping are classic Fazio footprints. The golf course is fun to play, generous off the tee and like a lot of Fazio courses — it’s easy on the eye.

1. One thing about Briggs Ranch Golf Club we’ll remember in five years?
Golf courses can impress in interesting ways and the Zoysia grass at Briggs was perfect. Grass quality is so important to ball striking and the experience — Briggs is in good shape. And the onsite casitas (little condos) are a nice touch — they have everything a nice hotel room has and a nice outdoor area for evening beers and cigars. Briggs Ranch is a private club, but the casitas create a resort-like experience for its members and member’s guests.

2. Favorite hole on the golf course?
Two holes stood out — #2 and #17 were good holes.

3. Price?
Private club, memberships available by the Dormie Network, a national network of clubs.

4. Potpourri?
The bar serves an incredibly delicious IPA, the Yellow Rose IPA by Lone Pint Brewery which is about three hours east of the club — it’s a local Texas brew. The food was delicious and overall club atmosphere was good — members were friendly and having a good time.

5. Location?
Briggs Ranch Golf Club, 2818 Rustlers Trail, San Antonio, Texas 78245; www.dormienetwork.com/briggsranch
