Golf Prepares Kids For Business

Golf Prepares Kids for the Business World
Better than Any Other Sport

It’s hard to think about it now but kids grow up and the people they meet as children can play a huge part in their success later in life. Golf is a sport that helps prepare teens for careers in business and other professional arenas. In fact, I can think of no other sport where kids and adults mix and play so freely together. Possibly hunting and fishing, but with those sports, the probability is that the youngsters and adults will have known each other already and not met, as it were, on the first tee.

As a teenager, I was learning about real life every day from the adults with whom I played. They ran garden centers, jewelry shops, restaurants, medical establishments, sports centers and hair salons. Right from a young age, I started asking the simple question I would encourage any kid to ask while playing with an adult; “How do you become successful in your type of business?

Although my blunt question often caused surprise, I never received anything other than a positive and helpful response. ‘Dale Carnegie 101’, ask the other person to talks about themselves.
