It’s the U.S. versus Europe in the 16th edition of the Solheim Cup in September at Gleneagles in Scotland. Developed for female athletes by a female athlete in Pennsylvania, the American women will compete in Jofit sportswear. WBGD was given a sneak peek of the new Firecracker Collection by Jofit, which is similar to what the U.S. team will sport during the three-day team competition in 73 days.
The collection is for those who wear their patriotism on their sleeves, literally. Small star trims are U.S.A.-proud, while laser cut stars are a bit more understated, but this is the land of the brave after all, so the bold big star pattern is the true star of the show.
Like all Jofit collections, tops include long, 3/4, short sleeve and sleeveless options. The brand’s signature Mina Skort has been updated with the red, white and blue swatch and there are also shorts and pants to choose from. And while we’re on the topic of stars – some styles even include UV50 protection.
A few days ahead of Independence day, I was dressed for the occasion on the tee box at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva Island, Florida. I sported the Cutaway Ribbed Top – sleeveless in solid blue with white shoulders and you better believe my Mina was in big star print. It wasn’t long before I had blasted my Srixon balls like fireworks all over the beaches of Captiva, but the outfit wasn’t to blame — it was comfy and flexible. The top is the perfect summer item to stay cool. The laser cut starred shoulders are made of mesh and is completely breathable. Also loved the added touch of the two front pockets on the skort.
Another favorite in this line is the Mesh Sleeve Mock top which fit sportier than most long sleeve items I’ve tried. It looks great in white with a blue trim on the neck and is perfect for those who want to avoid the sun as much as possible. Jofit’s Firecracker line launches August 15 and can be found in country club pro shops, retail stores, and boutiques across the country or online.
