Cypress Bend Golf Resort & Spa is built for the outdoors — the golf course layout is as good as there is and the bass fishing is world class. The current large mouth bass record is 15.32 pounds — that’s a hog. The Resort makes incredible use of the rolling terrain, Toldeo Bend Lake, the many tall pines and wetlands.

The beauty of the land and Toledo Bend Lake — the architect makes great use of the area with the eight or nine holes playing near the lake. And the food was good — steak and wedge salad were top-notch. And Toldeo Bend Lake is known to be one of the best bass-fishing lakes in the country which makes for an all-around outdoors weekend.
2. Favorite hole?
There are so many good holes on this golf course that cuts through the pines and cozies up next to the snakes and alligators — it’s a round of golf and Louisiana eco-tour, but the 16th is a beauty. It’s a downhill par 4, dogleg right to a green on a point with views of the Texas on the other side of Toledo Bend Lake.
